In the evening, take a gentle stroll through the legendary Ima Keithel, Asia’s only all-women market, and later explore the historic Kangla Fort, once the royal seat of Manipuri kings. Overnight stay in Imphal.

Day 2Loktak Lake & Sendra Island

This morning, set out for the breathtaking Loktak Lake, famous for its floating islands known as phumdis. A boat ride through the lake takes you past fishermen’s huts and the serene waterscape. You’ll also visit the Keibul Lamjao National Park, the world’s only floating national park, home to the rare Sangai deer. End the day with a peaceful evening on Sendra Island, staying overnight at an eco-lodge by the water.

Day 3Enchanting Engelberg

Today you travel to Andro Village, known for its rich traditions of pottery, doll-making, and rice beer brewing. Walking through the village feels like stepping back in time, where every corner has a story to tell. In the evening, enjoy a folk performance by the locals before retiring for the night at a simple yet warm village home-stay.

Day 4Journey to Kohima (Nagaland)

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive through the hills into Nagaland, arriving at Kohima. On arrival, visit the moving Kohima War Cemetery, a tribute to the soldiers of World War II, and spend some time at the bustling local market. Evening at leisure before settling in for the night in Kohima.

Day 5Khonoma Village & Dzükou Valley Trek

This day begins with a visit to Khonoma Green Village, a model of community-based eco-conservation. From there, lace up your boots for the trek to Dzükou Valley, often described as the “Valley of Flowers of the East.” The trail leads you through bamboo groves and forests, opening into meadows that seem to stretch endlessly. By evening, you’ll reach the campsite where a simple dinner and a night under the stars await.

Day 6Dzükou Valley Exploration & Return to Kohima

Wake up to the sight of mist rolling over the valley. Spend the morning exploring caves, streams, and the lush carpet of seasonal wildflowers that make this valley a true wonder. After soaking in the beauty, trek back to the base and drive back to Kohima, where you’ll spend the night.

Day 7Drive to Mon (Nagaland)

Today is a long but rewarding journey to Mon District, home of the Konyak tribe. The drive winds through forested hills and remote landscapes, giving you glimpses of village life along the way. By evening, you’ll arrive at a rustic homestay where you’ll be welcomed with warm hospitality and traditional food.

Day 8Mon & Longwa Village

Your day in Mon takes you deep into the world of the Konyak headhunters. Visit Longwa Village, uniquely perched on the Indo-Myanmar border, where the chief’s house lies in both countries at once. Meet the tattooed elders whose stories carry echoes of a warrior past. Watch blacksmiths at work and experience traditional crafts before returning to your homestay for the night.

Day 9Travel to Aizawl (Mizoram)

Leaving Nagaland behind, you make your way to Aizawl, the lively hill capital of Mizoram. Depending on connections, this journey will be part road and part air. Once in Aizawl, the evening is yours to explore the colorful local markets and soak in the relaxed rhythm of the city. Overnight in Aizawl.
